Bill Roth

Bill Roth is the Vice-president of Product Management for GSI Commerce. Prior to GSI Commerce, he was the VP/General Manager of the Tools Division of BEA Systems, where he led the team that produced many successful releases of the BEA Workshop product, and also had primary responsibility for the integration of the M7 acquisition. He also held several key marketing management positions at Sun Microsystems where he was responsible for product marketing and product management for J2EE and for SunONE developer marketing. Roth was also instrumental in the launch and community building for OpenOffice.org, the world’s largest corporate-contributed open source project.

Prior to that, Bill worked in technical and sales positions in the aerospace industry, specializing in satellite ground station software. In addition to a stint working in high-energy physics at the University of Wisconsin, he started his career in the Management Information Systems group at Morgan Stanley & Co., in New York City.
